Adam “Pacman” Jones suffered a neck injury during Sunday’s loss to the Steelers. Initial reports were pretty grim, saying that he might be done for the year. Now Adam Schefter of the NFL Network is reporting that the news might be even worse. There is a possibility that the neck injury could prematurely end Pacman’s career.
This is a sad development for Pacman and the Cowboys. I hope that his injury is not career-ending. I didn’t like Pacman much, and I really don’t think the was all that important to the Cowboys as a team, but I don’t like to see anybody get hurt so badly that they can’t play anymore.
UPDATE: There are conflicting reports on this matter. Profootballtalk.com has reportedly confirmed via a league source that Pacman’s injuries could very well be career-ending. However, reports from DallasCowboys.com and NFL.com indicate that the team does not believe the injury is a threat to his career. Specifically, the article on NFL.com provides the following from head coach Wade Phillips:
“Our people don’t think it’s career threatening or anything else that he would have to be operated (on) or anything like that,” Phillips said. “But it is something that might put him out this year.”
