T.O. and Tony Break Up

Since T.O. was signed to the Cowboys in 2006, the press has been predicting… no, presuming… no PRAYING for T.O. to have another meltdown like the ones that made him famous in San Fran and Philly. How long would it be, could it be, before T.O. started hacking apart his new quarterback the way he eviscerated Jeff Garcia and Donovan McNabb?
Except for that first year, when we found out just how much T.O. has to live for, the man himself has pretty much kept out of trouble. Then, shocking everyone, last year he proclaimed his love for Tony Romo in front of the world. Struggling to hold back his tears, T.O. told us “that’s my Quarterback.”
Their relationship was rocky from the start. You see, Tony has a wandering eye. He has reportedly allowed himself to be distracted by others, such as Carrie Underwood, Jessica Simpson and most recently Cowboys “Tight End” Jason Witten. On national television, Tony made MULTIPLE PASSES at Witten on several different occasions. For T.O., Tony’s all too public affection for Witten was the last straw. He called for a “Guys night out” with best pals Patrick Crayton and the other Roy Williams. The ‘Boys got to carousing and T.O.’s frustrations came out. His pals, having secretly been snubbed by Tony, had his back and they hatched a plan. They would first go and tell Tony’s dad offensive coordinator Jason Garrett about Tony’s unfaithfulness to his receiving corps.
Garrett promised that he would talk with Romo, but T.O. wasn’t satisfied. He felt that he couldn’t hide his pain from the public anymore, and so he opened up and confessed his troubles to the media. He was hoping that there could be some kind of public intervention and that Tony would understand his pain and stop his infidelity. Tony, however, did what all men do in such a situation. He ran off to hide somewhere, probably holed up with some tart.
Despite the headline, the two haven’t officially broken up. There’s always a chance that the two can come to an understanding and talk and throw some make-up passes and move past this. To do that, though, Tony will have to open up and talk with T.O. like he used to do.
The press, meanwhile, is drooling and chomping at the bit to report that the breakup is final. This, they say, could finally be it. The T.O. they all know and love, who used to make their jobs so easy, could finally be on track for another meltdown. It would be as good as, if not better than the T.O./Garcia breakup or the T.O./McNabb breakup or even (please oh please) the Brad Pitt/Jennifer Aniston breakup.
Me? I hope love will win out.

[...] The Cowboys had a reputation for taking in “troubled” players and turning them around. They had previously signed Tank Johnson, who had been released from the Bears after alcohol and gun-related infractions. Tank has so far kept himself out of trouble in the season-and-a-half since joining Dallas. They also picked up Terrell Owens after he was released by Philadelphia 3 years ago. For the first two years, Owens pretty much kept out of trouble, mostly because he was getting the ball regularly. That changed during the 2008 season, though, and so did T.O., according to some unnamed Cowboys player. There are many Cowboys fans out there that hope T.O. is the next player released by the team this offseason. To some, the Cowboys’ flameout at the end of the season can be directly attributed to the controversy T.O. caused. [...]

[...] year primarily due to a divided locker room. Too many guys were complaining and causing trouble, especially “ol’ reliable” himself, T.O. Because Romo is a very laid-back guy, he didn’t step up and take control of the situation [...]
